We're Hiring a Gallery Manager!
Location: NoName Gallery, Chestnut Hill (Philadelphia)
Schedule: Part-time, about 25 hours a week (includes weekends)
Duration: Temporary coverage during medical recovery, with potential to extend.
Compensation is $20 an hour
Start Date: (Approximately) February 23, 2026
NoName Gallery is seeking a reliable, highly organized, self-starting Gallery Manager to oversee daily operations while the owner is recovering from surgery.
This role is best suited for someone who takes initiative, pays close attention to detail, and is comfortable managing a creative space independently.
This position is ideal for a recent college graduate or graduate student interested in arts administration, gallery management, or creative entrepreneurship who is looking for hands-on, real-world experience in a working gallery.
Responsibilities include:

Opening and closing the gallery and maintaining a clean, welcoming space

Greeting visitors and confidently speaking about artwork, artists, and exhibitions

Processing art and retail sales using Shopify POS

Assisting with events, classes, and private rentals

Coordinating basic artist logistics (sales, pickups, communication)

Monitoring gallery email and messages and flagging important items

Enforcing gallery policies and maintaining a respectful environment
Ideal candidate:

Is a self-starter who does not require constant supervision

Is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and proactive

Takes initiative and problem-solves calmly and professionally

Has experience or strong interest in art, galleries, events, retail, or hospitality

Communicates clearly, reliably, and professionally

Can stand, move around the space, and assist with light setup/breakdown
