Cathie White
Cathey White is an artist, educator and native of Philadelphia. She holds a BFA in fine art
and education from Moore College of Art & Design. White’s paintings and drawings
speak to the beauty and color that can be found throughout the muted background of
the city. White's work explores local architecture, urban archaeology and the grittier side
of the city. The urban environment and the beauty found in typically unnoticed places
inspire White.
She most recently was one of forty-three artists selected to paint a large-scale public
mural for the Tiny Room for Elephants Festival at Cherry Street Pier in Philadelphia. Her
work has also been featured at various shops and galleries including: The Brooklyn Art
Library, Dock Street Brewery, Moore College of Art & Design, Philadelphia Distilling, B
Square Gallery, House Gallery 1816 and Kensington Community Food Co-Op. She is
currently showing at the NoName Art Gallery- Chesnut Hill.
