Our First-Ever Fundraiser: A Weekend of Community and Purpose
Hi, Jonene here! Along with being a small business owner and a mom, I’m also a breast cancer survivor. My grandmother was a survivor, too. Because of that, I never took my health for granted—I kept up with my mammograms, my checkups, and my self-exams.When I went for my annual gynecologist visit, everything seemed fine. My physical breast exam? Clear. I left that appointment feeling healthy. But just a month later, at my scheduled mammogram, they saw something. A biopsy confirmed it: breast cancer. It wasn’t until after my diagnosis that I could actually feel the lump myself. And then I felt it every single day, almost obsessively. I was lucky—I caught it before it even reached an official stage. I had a lumpectomy, went through radiation, and now, 2.5 years later, I’m clear.
Why This Fundraiser Matters: I believe in community. I believe in giving back. That’s really what this is about. Chestnut Hill has been my home for 10 years, and my gallery, NoName Gallery, is part of its heart. When I was diagnosed, Unite for HER reached out. They sent me a care package—full of thoughtful, healing things, including a cookbook that I still flip through to this day. Their support was real. It was personal. And now, it’s my turn to give back!
On May 16th-18th, NoName Gallery is hosting a weekend of fundraising and community in support of Unite for HER. All proceeds go directly to them. This weekend is about more than just raising money—it’s about showing up. It’s for anyone who has fought cancer, for the people who love them, and for the power of community.Come for one event, come for all of them—just come. I can’t wait to see you there!! Check out the full schedule below and join us in making a difference.
