Aimee Siegel

Aimée is a self-taught mixed media artist whose bureau drawers in her South Philadelphia studio apartment are not predictably piled with clothes, but are instead filled to the brim with interesting scraps of handmade papers, fabrics, maps, vintage wallpapers, ticket stubs and any sort of vibrant, eye-catching discarded ephemera collected over the years. She is inspired by color, texture, emotions and architecture and loves bringing together unwanted and unnoticed bits and pieces of life to turn them into cohesive, bright, unique and unforgettable treasures. Her art can be described simply as: a joyful little leap between trash and recycling.
