Night of Lights is the Chestnut Hill Conservancy's free annual streetscape exhibition that transforms Germantown Avenue into an illuminated celebration of history, architecture, landscapes, and place. Storefront windows and historic building facades become canvases for projected archival photographs, maps, artwork, and community stories, inviting visitors to experience the neighborhood in a new way.

First presented in 2017, Night of Lights was created as part of the Conservancy's 50th anniversary and its transition from the Chestnut Hill Historical Society to the Chestnut Hill Conservancy. The name change reflected the organization's evolving mission and its work in historic preservation, environmental conservation, and community archives.

Now entering its ninth year, the exhibition brings together original Conservancy productions and collaborations with historians, cultural organizations, and community partners. While the projections are presented along Germantown Avenue, their stories extend across Northwest Philadelphia and the lower Wissahickon watershed.
