"So what kind of photos do you take" is always the question. I don't know ... what ever I feel like taking? Is that an answer? For some it isn't because they look at me like I'm crazy, but for me ... it's just how it is. Don't put me in a box ... or baby in a corner ... however you want to identify with it :)
I never liked taking posed photos of people. No thanks to your wedding, your fall family photos and your kid pics. I'd rather walk 6 miles in 98 degree weather during a protest for a good shot or stand on a street corner waiting for the perfect person to cross the street while a bus crosses in the other direction. I like shooting natural expressions of people. I had a series a couple years ago where I would just stick people against a wall in my bedroom, talk to them and shoot their reactions. Those in between moments are what I like to capture.
Otherwise ... give me street scenes all day. Especially leading lines type shots. So this blog post is really just some photos I've taken recently. I had a meeting in the city and made a point to walk around a little afterwards and shoot. Then of course I had to take a photos in Puerto Rico. All done on the iphone and edited in the VSCO app.
Yes ... I usually only shoot on my phone anymore. My expensive big camera basically collects dust. I say this because I think a lot of people assume everyone is shooting on expensive cameras. We're not. If you have an eye, you don't need the bells and whistles. I've sold photos I've taken on my iphone for over 1k, so shoot with your phone. It's a money maker if you want it to be ;)
